I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Twitter is my favorite platform, and I will never consider it to be a “dying platform” like some people to believe it is! It’s super easy to network on there, and I personally think it’s the best platform to use to share articles and quick advice. Twitter recently announced two changes that are both AMAZING but will definitely change your marketing strategy for the platform. Check them out!
When you’re replying to someone’s tweet, instead of including their @username in the tweet, it will say “Replying to @username.” This means that usernames will no longer take up space in a tweet, which is vital because usernames can take anywhere between 10-20 characters from a tweet that has a limit of 140 characters! With this change, you’ll be able to have longer tweet replies, which will be even better if you’re replying to a tweet that involves more than one person.
I’m sure you’ve all heard of Periscope, which is owned by Twitter, before but have never used it. I’ve known of Periscope, but I never used it for myself because I just didn’t know what to use it for. However, I found out that Periscope just rolled out analytics for their videos which is AMAZING because you get so much insight! I literally did my first Periscope YESTERDAY, which was super exciting because it was so engaging. I tested out their analytics and the results that I saw were awesome! Analytics include the title of the Periscope, the date, the duration of the video, the number of viewers, the time watched, the time watched per viewer, the live time watched per viewer, and the replay time watched per viewer. These stats can be used to plan the content of your video in order to maximize your engagement.
I’m so excited about these changes due to my love of Twitter, so I can’t wait to see how they play out in the long run! How are you going to use these changes to your advantage?
